Well, I really like my 992. Knew what I was getting into when I bought it. Just a fun all around revo that'll eat anything you want to feed it. Mines the blued (black) 6.5", it's a keeper!

Zylo_X you better p/u a 44C Tracker too. Then you'd have the trifecta of multiple caliber capable Trackers

I love my 627 - it is my regular carry gun (normally OC).

I wouldn't feel comfortable enough to carry it, but I'm sure it looks sharp, especially OC.

    Hi, a new member here.
I recently picked up a 992, SS in the 6.5 barrel. I have been salivating over this wheel gun since the American Rifleman expose, I really dug and scrutinized all the buzz and reviews that exist on this masterpiece. It is everything I could ask for in a convertable rimfire revolver. The weight is a non issue for me and I find it to be extremely accurate in the LR mode. I have not really tested the Magnum cylinder yet, but I will be doing so very soon. I love that the cylinder drops away to permit effortless reloading and the front sight insert helps me wack more metal chickens than I thought I was capable of doing! A great revolver and my first Taurus ever. The man size frame and grip are what really sold me.

Welcome aboard and Greetings from DFW, Tx!

Thanks for the input, and I'm glad to hear the good report on the 992. I did, recently, get the 992/SS/6.5" myself, but haven't made it to the range yet. It is quite comfortable in-hand, and seems to operate smoothly with snap caps so far. Thanks to all the input here, and other research, I probably will wind up with the 357 and 44 also, just to add some revolver 'diversity' to my gaggle.

Thanks for welcoming me aboard. If there is one thing I'm undecided on with the 992, it's the grips. I will give it some more range time before changing out to Houge and if I do it's only because of my large hands. My shooting buddy loves the Ribber as it fits him perfectly. Again, congrats to Taurus for what I think is a home run of rimfire revolver.

I've got my eye on the Hogue also, but I still haven't been to the range to see how the ribber works. The fit is pretty good, but the rounded bottom kinda throws me off. If I do get the 627/44, the Hogue will probably be a requirement.

First thing I did when I got the 990 was swap out the grips for the Hogue Gripper. Just enough bigger to make the gun feel better to me. I wanted to like the Ribbers but the Hogue's are better, IMO.
