Congrats! That is a heckuva deal and a sweet gun to be sure. Did you get the 2 inch or 3 inch? Is it Stainless or Blued? All of these questions would've been answered by a picture.
I think that you'll enjoy your new piece.
Just purchased a Taurus 85 38 special not the ultra lite. Got it for $200.00 dollars with 50 rounds and a Galco holster. Never shot the gun but 5 times great shape like new. This is my 1st revolver just want to know what you guys think of this gun. Is it a keeper? I want to think so I am going to shoot it this weekend just want some opinions.

I've owned and continued to own a model 85 since about 1983. It is my wifes car gun, she shoots well with it.

There is an awful lot to love about a Taurus 85. And if it is in good shape, you got a nice price on your UL. BTW, if you are looking for some ammo with good potential in your 85, check out Federal's Hydra-shok 110 gr hollow points. It won't beat you up as much as +p in your revolver, but it still gives + p level performance. If it works well in your 85 (try it first), and is accurate, etc., I can't recommend it highly enough. It's what my wife uses in her S&W j-frame.......

It should have less felt recoil than the UL. I like this model for it simple functionality. You don't have to worry much about FTF with a revolver, just pull the trigger again.
