    Taurus M65 357 Magnum 4"

I was going to pick up a new 327 Magnum....Taurus of course with the ported barrel. Matter of fact it still ain't out of the running. However, I also am thinking of going 357 Magnum. Ammo is less expensive, plus it will shoot 38Spl ammo...again cheaper than the .327mag.
I like to purchase at a price point that I don't spend a fortune on one gun. I also like dependable, well built and lifetime warranty....yes, I am a Taurus man (OK, I am really a Leo, but for the sake of this forum I am a Taurus Man).

I am looking hard at the M68 357 Magnum 4" barrel in a matt stainless finish, priced at $365 delivered to my FFL. I am thinking at this is a pretty good price, if someone knows other please educate me and save me some cash.
If some of you own this model Taurus I would sure appreciate some honest feedback. I am not looking for this as a carry weapon, but more of a fun target pistol inexpensive to shoot revolver.
    Thanks

You could not pick a better model IMHO.
I've got a much older version ( over 25 years old) of the 65 and with the 2.5" barrel. It's got one of the sweetest, crisp, light, break like a glass rod trigger pulls in double action. To say I was surprised hardly covers it.

The 65 is dependable, reliable, and accurate.

One of the advantages with mine is that the 158gr., or close to that bullet weights, hit at point of aim or close to it with the fixed sights.

That's for .38 Special or .357 magnum rounds. Not all of them. Just for most of them.

I think the price is very good after doing a little research.

Personally, I'd go for the .357 Magnum.

I have the model 605 snubbie and really do like this revolver.

I don't think you'll beat that $365.00 price for that particular handgun.

The model 65 Taurus is very similar to the Model 65 S & W and has been around since the mid 70's. When PD's got away from the Model 10 S & W, the Model 65 S & W was the next step up. The Amarillo Sheriff's department issued the Model 66 Taurus, same as the 65 only with an adjustable rear sight. You could not get a better revolver for the money. It is a great range, home and car defense gun, just an all around great revolver.

I was looking at the model 65 or 66 Taurus two years ago when I stumbled on a vintage pristine Model 66 S & W for about the same money and bought it. Even back then, I was looking at about $380 for a Taurus 65. You found a great price. A somewhat clean Model 66 S & W just went for $500 at my favorite LGS.
