Excellent gun. I have 3 Trackers: a .41 mag, a .44 mag, and the .357 mag. I add a Hogue Monogrip to them and they are extremely comfortable and accurate. If I have need of a woods gun, then I think one of these would be perfect. Do you own any Taurus guns or are you considering your first?

I have a 627 4" ported, 7 round .357. I was very hesitant to buy a Taurus product after reading/hearing horror stories. I had a Single action revolver I was sick of and ended up trading it for the 627. Very glad I did! Out of the box it was dirty, but after cleaning it up, removing the oil/preservative I took it to the range and it is scary good. I'd reccomend trying the trigger (dry fire) if there is one in stock at your local gun store. Mine is very smooth, and the build quality is acceptable for the price. I don't care how "pretty" a gun looks, but I am very pleased with mine.

That one would be "beautiful" in my scoring system!

Spent a lot of time looking at the 627 and the Model 66. Both are decent shooters. I chose the Model 66 instead of the 627 to avoid the porting and ribber grips. Just personal preference.

I owned one for awhile and it was a fantastic revolver; well-balanced, accurate and cylinder lock-up was tight. If you get one you won't be disappointed.
