    went back and compared on to my gp100 today at lunch time. its like a carbon copy, except matte finish(which i prefer), 7 rounds instead of 6, and of course the 627 is ported and has those funky grips(those would have to go) other then that, size, shape, trigger guard shape, all the same

    Hello all! First post and whatnot, but I found this site due to my purchase of my first Taurus revolver, a 627. I've gotta load some ammo and get out shoot it. I was skeptical to get one after seeing all the mixed, sometime negative views, but we will see how it is.

    The latest issue of Handguns magazine has a nice write-up on the 627. I have been looking for a Ruger GP-100 but the 627 looks really good also.
