Taurus Tracker scope mount Weaver style base
May give a look at these. I wasnt sold on the idea of having to remove my rear sight but everyone that Ive talked to that has one loves it. Reasonably priced too
Is there anyway to mount a red dot sight on a Tracker, specifically a 4" 990? I have a Burris FastFire red dot which I thought would be interesting to mount on my Tracker.

I would go this way but before i pulled the rear sight. I would scribe where my sight sat in the dovetail. If the scope failed on me i could pull the scope and rail off. Then realign my rear sight with the scribe marks. Just keep the tools needed and rear sight on you ( small gladware container) to switch in the field.

Done deal! I picked up a Weigand Weaver mount for my Tracker. Looks pretty neat. It was easy to install. The rear sight was easy enough to remove and should be easy to re-install. I hope to sight it in this weekend. Thanks Ccviper for the heads up on the Weigand mount.

Hi John,
I also have a Weigand on my Tracker 22lr. It's a great product!
I ordered one for my GP100. Let us know how your first day at the
range went.
I got my red-dot mounted Tracker out to range today. It worked out great! I pretty quickly got the red-dot sighted in and started driving tacks. Bullets went right where I put the dot. My old eyes were happy!

Sweet set up! I've been thinking about doing a red dot on my 990 Tracker. You may have just put me over the top.
