    What to choose...

Hey all I am currently looking at four different revolvers. The Taurus 617, Taurus 627, Rossi 971 and the Rossi 462. I really like the 4" barrels but not sure if that would make for hard concealment. I am wondering what I should go with for most reliable and fun to shoot as well as protection. Thanks in advance!!!

I am the owner of the Taurus 617 and I can tell you I really like it. It is
similar in size to the S&W J Frame series and it can be carried in a pocket
holster and IWB. It is heavy for a concealed carry piece but having seven
rounds of .357 magnum in a revolver versus five or six was a main selling
point for me. Add in the facts that it shoots great and can be concealed
with little difficulty and now you see the reasons I bought the Taurus 617.

Welcome to the forum! You will learn a lot on here.

I also have the 617 and I love it. It is a great gun for protection or play. I have shot over 400 rounds out of mine so far and I have not had any problems with it.

Welcome from the Northwoods of MN.

For CC I would have to look at the 2 or 3" tubes as I feel the 4" tubes may be more difficult to conceal. I too debated what I wanted to get and decided to go with a model 617 Blued, but at the time the 617's were hard to find so when I found a 617SS2 I went for it. I carry it reguarly although at 28 oz's it is not a lightweight it does a good job of taming the 357's, and always works. Of course this just my opinion.

I think you'll be pleased with the Taurus 617. Remington Golden Sabre .38 Special +P
is a good self defense load to use for concealed carry. Give us a range report after
you take it out for the first time.
