    Taurus 94 4" SS

Whelp, I finally rejoined the herd with a nice little plinker.

    Taurus 94 4" Stainless

Haven't got a chance to shoot it yet.

My main question is regarding the ammo I should use. I know there are so many types out there, but I'm new to the .22LR game. Any suggestions?

I have shot anything from Bulk Thunderbolts, to CCI mini mags. Unless your into wanting small sub size series, use what works for you. Many say some ammo is more accurate than others, but it depends on YOUR gun, and how YOU shoot as to what will work the best.

Nice 94! I own a 2" blue 94. That gun will fire ANY .22 lr you want.

Thanks guys. That's what I figured. My main concern was feeding problems. I suppose since its a wheel gun, feeding shouldn't be an issue.

Wheel guns don't feed, they eat! My 990 eats anything I put in it.

Don't give up the ship!! Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry!!
Due to the rising cost of ammo. A warning shot will NOT be fired!!

I just got a 94 ,blued ,a few weeks ago, finally sighted it in for Winchester powerpoints, its dead on now, it didnt like anything in CCI it shoots them 5 inches high, great gun , i lightened up the trigger on mine, of course i took it apart and cleaned out all the left over metal shavings etc from manufactureing, that gun is going to be your favorite gun.

    Re: Taurus 94 4" SS

My 94 is just like yours, except an inch longer. I absolutely enjoy shooting it with just about any ammunition that I've tried. I'm still a huge (OK, no wise cracks about my abundant weight!!) fan of CCI products. They're not the best, I know, but they are a very good product at a reasonable price. Hey, that's why I shoot a Taurus, isn't it??

You will want to take it apart and clean out the insides. Why Taaurus doesn't do this is a mystery to me It seems like a simple step that would vastly improve their reputation. At any rate, there is an excellent pictoral guide for the disassembly of Taurus small frame revolvers in the "smithing" section. It was posted by chicharrones, and he did a fine job. Don't be concerned that it's not specifically for the M94, the internals and the process are the same. I don't advise cutting any springs, but if you decide to do so, have a new pair available before you start! Don't ask how I came to this conclusion, nobody can prove a thing!!

I think that you made a fine choice, hope that you enjoy your 94 as much as I do mine.

    Re: Taurus 94 4" SS

I love my 2" M-94; it holds 33% more ammo than a S&W Kit Gun at half the price.

.22's are pretty picky about ammo preferences, so my best answer there is to test drive what you can till you find what your particular gun likes the best.
