Aquiring gold accents for a 85ul

Good day, afternoon, night, or whatever it may be where you are.
I recently purchased a taurus 85UL. I had been looking for the right deal on one that felt right for a while when i came accros a guy at a gun show with a milk crate full of them NIB for only $250. As im sure you can imagine i scooped one up. The only downside is that i was trying to find one with the gold accents. I am a PPA and only plan to carry it as a BUG. However, our clients are usually high profile and demand a certain look from their PPAs (you know, black suit, snazzy sidearm, ect.). So, i fitted my 85UL with rosewood grips to match the sig p225 that is my primary carry. I'm rambling...my question is; can i find a kit that contains the gold accents to add them to my 85? And if so where would i purchase them?

    Wow! Ok, you want bling!

I am not sure if the gun parts sites, stock such gold accented triggers, cylinder releases, or hammers.

The best bet might be to see if Taurus would sell them direct to you!!

thanks robby. i know its kind of a moot point as to what accents you have on your weapon. I carry my 85UL on and off duty, so i want to "trick it out" a little. thanks again i will try contacting them.

More into seeing engraving as bling, more'n gold. But, a trigger or a hammer could be plated easily enough. Have to be someone with firearms knowledge to do it, keeping the sear parts away from the plating. Gold inlay is done by custom engravers, but I don't know any good shops, sorry. I had a fantastic engraver near me, old fellow who'd once worked for the Colt custom shop and started a radio show back in the 50s called the "Louisiana Hay Ride". His claim to fame was giving Elvis his first step to fame. He was 91, about 10 years ago, when he did a stainless Ruger Blackhawk for me. He's gone now. He was the best I've ever run across. Helluva life that old man led, too.

Re: Aquiring gold accents for a 85ul

I agree that engraving says more about beauty than gold. But, i learned to do engraving as a kid. My grandfather learned while in belgum during ww2. unfortunately he died before i was born. Fortunately, he taught my uncle. Its not that dificult to do actually. it just takes a steady hand, concentration to detail, and the right machinery. im not going to go through all the effort to inlay my daily carry piece. i carry my 85 on and off the clock. I have alwasy been of the opinion that the weapon you use for civilian CCW should be something your not afraid to lose. Granted i love my 85, but i only paid $250 for it, so if i ever have to use it and it gets taken as evidence or it gets stolen im not going to shed any tears. I have one of the first glock 22's ever made, a browining that is not much younger than dirt, a few sigs, a walther pulled off of an italian officer in ww2, and a beretta .32 manufactured in 1949. should any of those go missing i would be boiling for weeks. but my NIB 85UL, pt-22, and others of the like, i would be upset over, but i would'nt stew for so long. Im also not going to go to the effort to have the trigger, cylander release, or hammer gold plated. if i can find the parts at the right price ill do it and im sure it will smile back at me. but im not going to stress myself over it. I do have a few more forum questions that i do want address but dont have the time for them this morning so ill hit the boards later. thanks alot for your opinion guys.
