    Taurus disassembly and reassembly

I was surfing in "The High Road.us" last night and looking at the Sticky in the revolver section on the disassembly of the S&W 10 (forgive Me), excellent and informative. DO WE HAVE ANY INSTRUCTIONAL STICKIES THAT I HAVE MISSED AS A NEWBIE.

    Thanks.................Ken http://www.thehighroad.us/showthread.php?t=397265

Check the smithing section, you might want to use the search function in that area to locate some earlier posts. Revolver Diagrams, are in the manuals that are on the Taurus site, if you do not have yours.

Also Google search apparently, will give you help in finding appropriate diagrams.

Robby.........Thanks for the hint, took your suggestion and used "search" to check-Nothing at all. Google, nothing. I guess I'll use a S&W diagrams and study the set up of the inards after I get the plate off. Thanks anyway.

    Re: Taurus disassembly and reassembly

I can't believe there are no manuals, or guides, or such!

Maybe in a book that describes revolvers?

So would anybody with knowledge please point us newbies to it? Googling brought this DVD (http://www.americangunsmith.com/view.php?id=9) for $45, and a few generic books which may or may not cover this particular revolver.

    Re: Taurus disassembly and reassembly

My instruction manual has some different diagrams for different sized revolvers. Apparently a generic manual they stick in every box.

    Re: Taurus disassembly and reassembly

Yes it helps. But being given the correct sequence, plus tips on what to watch for and how to remove/insert tricky parts - is what we ultimately are looking for. Plus an advice on how deep should disassembly go for different kinds of cleaning (regular after-range-session, monthly, yearly, before long storage, etc).

    Thanks!

    Re: Taurus disassembly and reassembly

The taurus manuals leave alot to be desired. I really wish they would make a complete one for EACH revolver, and stop selling their guns in cardboard boxes. Id glady pay 20bucks more to have them included.

one thing i did before i took my revolver apart was took a few digital photos so i could be reminded how to put it back together when i was done.
