    Taurus Poly Protector .38 Special

Love Taurus first off...have always been happy and never had a problem till now. Took my brand new Taurus Poly Protector in .38 Special to the range and after ten rounds it broke. By broke I mean that I can thumb hammer back, pull trigger and it works fine...but in double action pulling the trigger does nothing. Trigger goes to the rear but cylinder does not turn and hammer does not move. Also cylinder release will not move so I can not eject empty shells out. Any one else have this problem? Yes, I made sure and followed all manufactures suggestions and was shooting manufactured ammo within specs (.38 special, not + P ammo). Thank you for looking!

Mine and my GF's Poly were sent to Taurus. My Poly has the same problem as yours. Mine is a .357. After every one or two shots in DA the cylinder would lock up.

Welcome to the forum, Kcboats...but I'm sorry that you're having issues with your Poly M85.

Contact Taurus Customer Service and advise them of the problem. They are a great bunch of folks and will take good care of you.

Out of the fourteen Taurus handguns I have owned, I've only had to send in two of them for service. Taurus replaced one of them and repaired and returned the other one in a lightning-fast turnaround time of seven days.

Hey MilProGuy, I think Taurus ought to provide you with a free gun for all the counseling/consoling you do!
