    24/7 45 slide locked up

24/7 G2 .45 cal. I bought the gun last week brand new. Mi first Taurus. Cleaned it and today went to shoot it for the first time. Using Winchester white box target ammo. I had at least one FTE on each of the first 4 magazines. Trigger was not too bad but not great either. On the first round of the fifth magazine the slide locked up on the way back. I removed the magazine and there was just enough clearance to remove the spent cartridge. The slide wont move back or forward it is like fused in place. The Gunsmith at the range took a look at it and he could not make it move. He said to send to Taurus, which I will call early Monday morning. This is making me think twice about trusting Taurus to defend me and my family. I'm using the factory magazines.
I have 3 others .45s and never had anything like this happening on any of them.
Did I just got a lemon or anyone here knows about this problem?

The G2s are the new kids on the block and haven't settled in and learned all the rules. It's sad but some are just having to go back to the factory school and learn good manners. When the factory gets them all properly trained they are going to be some fine guns. I'm sorry you have to go through this, some of them behave very well right out of the box. I shoot their predecessors, the 24/7's, and find them very, very nice shooting.

I'm really sorry to hear of your problem with the slide, because of your disappointment with your new range toy, but it also puts a preceived mark against Taurus. I know they will make it right for you though..

I am sorry about the issue you are having. I have not encountered this issue with my 24/7 G2 40. I have nearly 900 rounds through it and the only issue I had was a squibb round. Not the guns fault. I would call customer service on Monday, just remember to be polite and if they do not offer ask them if they will pick up round trip shipping since you just purchased it. Maybe you will get a fast turnaround and have a better range trip. I am really liking my G2. Good luck.

Call Taurus Customer Service and let them help you. Service Trips are running pretty quick these days, so you won't be without it long!

Update..... Not good. Its been 11 weeks since Taurus received my gun and its still in "repair" status. I called them 2 weeks ago and they said the gun needs a new barrel and slide and that they are waiting on the parts to finish it. That was all good until they mentioned that they do not know when they will get the parts. NOT good customer service. How long am I supposed to wait? 20...30...40 weeks? Next week I will call them again and check on the status. If they "do not know" when they will get parts the right thing to do is send me a new gun. Nothing better than keeping happy customers. So far this is not a good experience with this company.

Parts come from the Mother Ship, which is positioned in Brazil!
theres No way that Customer Service can give you a good date of delivery, to many variables and then its also somewhat dependent on the Feds and what they may want to inspect or check.
they are likely just being honest with you, you may not like it but thats the best way to be, honest.

I'm just curious. Did you post this thread after you sen the gun in? You posted this on 4/7 and it is now 5/30. That's eight weeks.

Next call to CS, request the 'review board' to get a replacement. However, the replacements are most likely on the same ship with the parts they're waiting on. Understanding the 'supply line' and the inherent limitations is key to being patient. I'm on my third G2C-45 thanks to 2 replacements. There will always be 'issues' with any new model, from any manufacturer, and it is frustrating. The majority of owners here have had positive experiences, but I can say from my experience that Taurus will make it right, and I am a very satisfied customer.

if parts are not available for a pistol within a week of purchase, the dealer should replace it with a new unit.

here in the phils, we have a 7 day replacement policy. if the unit has a fault within 7 days of receipt, it gets replaced with a new unit. the problem is the 2-4 week wait to get your license information fixed...
