    PT709 FTE and FTB

    I have a PT709 bought new about 5 yrs ago, took to range this week and had several FTE and FTB. I have about 400 rds through it. cleaned again back to range same thing. cleaned again tried two different mags and two types of ammo (WWB and Magtech) both 115gr same results. This is same ammo I have been using. Any ideas where to start looking for issue?

    First off, FTE(failure to eject) I understand, what is FTB?
    Can't help until you clarify...................

    FTB - Failure to Battery (would not completely chamber a round) chamber about 3/8 of an inch open.

    FTB - Failure to Battery ( failure to fully chamber a round) My chamber would stay open about 3/8 of an inch.

    Ok, first off how many rounds through the firearm(ballpark it) and have you ever pulled your
    extractor off the gun and cleaned behind it? We will start here first.................

    Actually, FTE could be either "eject" or "extract". There's a difference. I've never heard FTB before. I was a little concerned it might be "Failure to Barbecue". I hate these abbreviations.

    Oh...FTB=FTF. "Failure to Feed". Or sometimes "Failure to Fire". Who's in charge of these definitions anyway? Nobody, apparently.

    FTC= Failure to Communicate.

    Not your fault Dog, I just have a pet-peeve about these FT_'s.

    Welcome to the forum from Northern Illinois. I think that LoudViking has the correct line of reasoning.
