    1911 Education

    Hey all,

What books and websites would you recommend to someone who is looking into gaining a thorough knowledge of the history and function of the 1911 pistol?

The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are out numbered by the people that vote for a living

"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." - George Washington

Our 1911 section and youtube is a good start plus the 1911 forum. We cover just about everything even taking it down and other great features.

Video breakdowns are great ways to learn how to strip one to its frame and put it back together with ease. I actually watched the Armscor video before i bought my RIA 1911, which made it feel like second nature taking it down for the first cleaning.

This is a challenge and believe me, the American people are up to the challenge,...." -Glenn Beck

Thanks for sharing the link. Somehow I've missed them all this time. I have a MAC Amigo, and now I have a new bookmark for later research.

Yep! and the benefit of breaking your 1911 down and cleaning it and reassembling it is all the free parts that you get!
I mean i always have 1 or 2 extra parts everytime that i tear into one of mine!--
