Aw man, what the F....had to happen eventually eh? Three point jams are like a letter from the IRS;no matter when you get them, they always suck.
So I clear the jam and see the round from the chamber hit the grass at my feet.WAIT....why does that .45 ACP round look weird?
This Board of Inquiry clears my PT1911 of any wrongdoing in the case of the Three Point Malfunction, and finds all culpability rests with Federal Cartridge Co. The firearm's flawless record is re-instated without delay.![]()

Im not going to mince words, I inspected my factory carry ammo very closely after this range session.
As far as mistakes in factory ammo goes, if you shoot enough of the stuff its going to happen sooner or later. Ive been shooting for about 2 years, and ive had 1 dud round out of a 200 round box of Remington 9mm , 1 squib from 9mm TulAmmo, and the Federal Rimless Special above last week.

Actually thats more problems from factory ammo than i have seen in over 40-45 years of shooting.
I can only remembe a couple of no fires in factory ammo over that time and no squibbs.
both simply would not light off even after multiple strikes form the firng pin in a couple different guns.
intersting when shooting paper , likely not so much if truly needing the weapon.
thats where practice and a cool head comes into play, its amazing how few people prepare for the Murphys Law syndrome that you just know is coming at some point.
with the amount of ammo thats produced each year it surprizes me that a lot more problems aren't encountered.
