HMMM??? don't know where the limited edition comes from?
IF you read the description it sounds like a stock SR1911 to me?
BUt at 1200 bucks that takes it into S & W --"E" series 1911 and above!
more like the kimber raptor II, or top line Springfields.
the highest that i have seen a SR here was 899.99, most are 799.99 or best price 750.00

Well, I went ahead and did it, I purchased the Taurus PT-1911AL. I still have two of the Ruger SR-1911 on order that should be in later this month.....I hope. But, with the Taurus AL being a discontinued model and with limited offerings seen, I figured what the heck..get it while I can. I have yet to find anyone who has either owned one or currently owns one who speaks negative about it, so its gotta be good. After all the internet don't lie....right.

Paid $600 delivered to my FFL, who will charge me $15 for the transfer. So I am into it for $615. Not the bargain that many of you got from the Larrys clearance sale, but not to bad for the current market. That brings my Taurus count in .45acp up to 2 each 1911 (1 SS, 1 AL) and 2 each Pt-945 (1 SS, 1 SS/Gold/Pearl)

Congratulations, I'm sure you won't regret your choice, and you can never have to many 1911"s, but you know what we'd like to take your word for it, but can't believe it with out pictures, enjoy.

    Yes !!
Its unfortunate but we get so many Taurus Wanna-Be's here on the forum that a picture or two is required as evidence!
we just can't have them Springer and Colt people coming over here and impersonating Tauri owners!

Yea, greenwolf says they are "Hypnotic" -LOL
the AL is just a great looking pistol with that flat grey frame, hi-lighted by the black grip safety, slide release, trigger, hammer and mag release!
A lot of people change out thier parts to achieve this , where the AL gives it to you free.
you will enjoy yours if its anything like mine. ----SAweeeet!

The grips do kind of remind me of one of those posters/photos that if you stared at them long enough with your head ever so slightly tilted to the north with your eyes crossed, you would see a image in 3D.
