Taurus PT1911 @ Larrys Pistol and Pawn

I have posted recently that it seemed as though the price of firearms has been shooting sky high as of late. I have seen many listing for Taurus PT1911SS in the $700 to $750 price range. I did come across an auction for a new stainless Taurus 1911 on GunBroker from Larrys P&P with a pretty darn aggressive price on a No Reserve auction. Shipping is a flat $20 and no fees for use of a charge card. I have purchased numerous firearms from Larrys, each and every transaction went perfect.

Anyway, here is a link to the 1911

thats a pretty good price. i wonder why they'd be going for such a high value. a local store "scheel all sports", there's a bunch of them around the states, didn't have ruger, but they said they could order me the pt1911 if i wanted, and it was $629 black, $659 stainless, and the SS-bullhead would have been $699. more expensive than online but still not 750! heh! they had a ss bullhead on budsgunshop for $674 including shipping. i think its still on there....lemme look

I bought mine about a year ago for $670 otd. I shopped for almost 2 years and watched the price rise from around $500. The price of everything is going up. Guns, ammo, commodities. Prices surely aren't dropping. I just read on the web this morning that gun sales are up 40% in Colorado and ccw classes are booked for weeks. Prices are sure to rise with the 2 Amendment debat heating up.

What ever anyone is looking for, find your best deal now and buy it. They are not going going to get any cheaper until and unless the threat to the 2nd amendment is voted out.

I would have felt like i was stealing except for the stainless steel Pt1911-38 Super that i picked up from CDNN for 461 out the door!

I bought one of the PT1911AL's when Larry's had them for that price as well. It is currently the only 1911 I own. I do think I would like the all stainless version, too. I'd like to see what the increased weight does for performance, and they are purty...

what we do with the AL's is place a "Redneck Barrel Weight" ---A can of Budweiser---tied to the dust cover!
Seriously i don't find any real difference in the AL and a standard weight full sized 1911 when i shoot them.
I was actually expecting more recoil than what it has.
