I dood it again...the Adopt a Taurus Program

I was browsing a local online gun sale site and came across a Taurus 1911SS in stainless looking to be adopted. Being the kind hearted Taurus loving person that I am, I made an inquiry. Seems it had been purchased by a new CHL person as a conceal carry pistol, only to figure out that the 1911 is a fairly large weapon. It sat for the last year of so unattended to in the back of a closet. So rather than let another homeless downtrodden Taurus become just another pretty face on the street, I manned up and brought it home with me. I did run the number and found that it has a 2010 date of birth. She needs an oil bath along with a little spit and shine.
So how did I do for my ....$450 adoption fee.

You may notice that the pistol does wear the idiot scratchs just above the trigger. Does anyone have a secret for taking care of removing these on a matt stainless finish? Or am I best to just leave it along and live with it?

I'd say you did alright! Looks just like mine. Just looking at it, makes me want to take mine out for some exercise tomorrow!

Those scratches (the famous idiot scratch ) beneath the slide latch can be easily removed with some gentle polishing, by the way. I admit it, I speak from experience, but it'll never happen to me again!

Nice pistola! Excellent purchase! I've always liked the SS without the rail. Enjoy!

If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.' Thomas Jefferson

I was about to say....looks like Smokewagon's smooth as silk PT1911. I don't think I've shot his in a couple of years, but it sure was slick the first time I shot it and that was over 5,000 rounds ago.

At the $450 price I would have bought it anyway, but with it being rail-less it just kind of screamed for me.

5,000 rounds ago, how many rounds has his 1911 been party to?

You know you made me think. They have all these "dog rescue" groups. We need "Taurus Rescue".
