I would snatch it up at $475. That is a great price for a stainless.
I was at a shop today, they had a PT1911 stainless without the rail that was used for $500. He said he would do $475 + tax. The gun was sold there originally 6 months ago, the original owner traded it back into the shop for a rifle. It looked to be in perfect cosmetic condition, action was smooth, trigger was nice.
I looked around online and seems that gun sells about $600 new, I am just curious what you guys think about the price. I have a Taurus Model 66 that I love, but never had a taurus semi auto.

Sounds like a pretty good deal.
$475 for stainless isn't bad. If it is "like new" condition I'd do it!

I was at the lgs a couple days ago. A new pt1911 blued was priced at $795. Taurus and Ruger are crazy high around here if you can find one. I've posted this a couple of times the prices and demand are crazy in my area. But i will pay the price to support local business. I just can't bring myself to order a firearm over the net. Ammo no problem.

Yeah that is crazy expensive. I have never bought a gun online either, but if my local shops were charging $200+ over the normal going rate, I would certainly look into it. I am in NE Indiana and most shops around here are reasonable on new stuff, its usually ~$50 more than online, but when you factor in shipping, FFL, and then the fact you shop locally its well worth paying that extra.
This is the first time I have bought a gun from this particular shop, I typically just stop by there when I am traveling for work because they have pretty reasonably priced cast bullets. I was about to check out and then started looking around and saw the PT1911. I have been intrigued by the Taurus 1911 since I saw the $450 AL deals from Larrys a while back. I have a RIA Compact as my every day carry gun right now and the PT1911 is now my pretty gun. It is gorgeous, now just to find an even sexier set of grips.
With the deal being done, here are a few pics. Basically everything that came with the gun originally is still there. It does not look like it was shot much, really the only wear is from the slide cycling against the barrel, so really nothing.
I can resize them if any issues.
