Congrats! Glad you got back there in time, but I wish I had beat you to it!![]()
WOW! Prettier than I imagined it. Very nice! Grats. I think you did GOOD.
Enjoy!! Sent you a PM ref some nice custom wood grips I'll give you a good deal on...they would look great on your stainless :-) I own a PT1911AL and a PT1911 9mm...still waiting to try out the 1911 9mm...
Shot it today at the range, it was hot as hell and humid as all get out, but we sent 100 rounds down range, shot great, no failures at all. Very accurate from 7yds to 15 yds that I shot it. Still better with the 66 6" barrel but working on it.
Verrrry nice!! How do you think it would look with Pachmayer wood grain & rubber finger grips?? Put em on my AL & it looks sweet!!
I haven't been able to catch my breath since viewing the pics of your sublime PT1911 stainless pistol...but "huff, puff, huff"...
...YOU "DONE" GOOD!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new pistol! I also have the PT 1911 SS and it is my hands down favorite. I had the Pachmayr ALS grips on mine, but pulled them off due to the added size of the grip and the increased difficulty in reaching the mag release.
"Do not blame Caesar, blame the people of Rome who have so enthusiastically acclaimed and adored him and rejoiced in their loss of freedom and danced in his path and given him triumphal processions. Blame the people who hail him when he speaks in the Forum of the new wonderful good society which shall now be Rome's, interpreted to mean more money, more ease, more security, and more living fatly at the expense of the industrious." -- Marcus Tullius Cicero
Wow - nice deal on that PT1911! I have one just like it and it shoots very well. I've added the wood/rubber Pachmayr's to mine and it gives it a distinguished look. You should receive a lot of great service out of that PT1911. Great job and good luck!
PS. As you do, I always check out the used rack at the LGS; sometimes some true gems line those cabinets.
