Cool I have this pistol also.

I have this pistol too. Just purchased on 8/15/11. It is indeed a thing of beauty! Now I want the same pistol in .38 Super, as mine is a .45 of course. This is a very beautiful 1911. Precise and very tight frame-to-slide fit. I am very pleased with the craftsmanship and also the quality. There was not a scratch on this pistol, and though it is shiny, this is purely for home defense and also as an addition to my collection. I won't be firing it much as it is so beautiful. I look at it everyday! It is so gorgeous and now I'm thinking of switching out the factory black rubber grips with some cocobolo or pearl, maybe ivory-like grips...

It was a steal at $500. I would definitely buy another. It is one heavy, hefty, high-quality pistol. Weighs 42.5 oz, which is far from the 33 oz I saw it listed as on AbleAmmo. Was very hard for me to find but I tracked it down on GunBroker. I would recommend it to anyone...there are more sublime models like the blued and matte stainless versions. But I'm a fashion-forward woman who loves gold and shine...this fit me perfectly! Pistol porn indeed and she sleeps right beside my bed on the nightstand, gently wrapped in a towel (to prevent scratching of course and make it easy to get).

I likely won't use a holster for this pistol as I don't want to scratch the surface. Mirror-shine...I can see my reflection in the slide. The look of chrome or polished nickel for a fraction of the price! I will use a zippered pistol case to carry this. Came with lockable hard plastic Taurus case, extra mag, nylon bore brush, grip screw wrench, barrel bushing wrench, manual. This was well worth the money IMO...looks like a $1,000 pistol, EASY. The Taurus safety system is great and that along with the ambi safety and decocker are why I chose this pistol (aside from pure superficial looks alone and my affinity for 1911's). There are hundreds of pages of grips on Ebay that will fit this pistol...and there are some beautiful custom ones out there!

I believe that Larry's pistol & pawn still has them on sale? (stainless) in 45 gold with rail.
    I think they are like 484 ?
IF you want a 38 Super in either blue/Gold or stainless /gold then CDNN has the blue with rail and Gold for 389?
and the stainless with rail and gold for 429?
i think thats the corect prices on them.

    40 S & W??
    in a PT1911?
    I didn't know they existed!
The 38 Super is one of those calibers that you just need to want to buy one!
Its actually one of the more powerful cartridges in the 1911 frame, I believe that the 38 Super is only over shadowed by the 9 X 23, the 10 MM and the 357 Sig in any common commercially loaded round.
the down side is availability of ammo, price of ammo (which for me is the same as 45 acp ammo).
for me i fell in love (sinful desire is a better statement) for the 38 super some 30 pls years ago and finally got one just a few months back, at $461 out the door for a stainless 1911 in 38 Super just to good of a deal to pass up.
personally i woudl opt for the 357 Sig before the 40 cal, but to each his/her own.
