Welcome from the KY, Horse Country!! Crimson Trace, LaserMax, and some others seem to hold up well. They have been designed to handle recoil, of the guns they are made for.

anyone using this lasermax product on a 1911
I have a LaserMax Uni-Max laser and have nothing but good things to say about it. One thing though, with mine I had to use the Glock/Universal inserts on mine because for some reason the 1913 (Picatinny) inserts didnt fit the slots in the rail. It's a great system for the money. Shop around though and don't buy direct from LaserMax. At the time they wanted $183 for the Uni-Max and with searching the internet I bought mine for only $155. And keep it in Pulse mode, it's ALOT faster to pick up than the solid red dot. (the batteries last longer as well)

Anyone know if the Crimson Trace LG-401 (laser sights for full size single stack 1911) will fit the PT1911? On the product page, several disclaimers appear outlining measurements required, etc......

mcowling,
I had the same problem with my TLR-2. At first I thought the inserts were out of spec, so I tried it on my Springfield XD45 and it fit there just fine so it is the slots in the rail of the AR that are out of spec.

Just find the closest fit, then use a needle file to take some material off the insert. Remember, just a tiny bit at a time. You can always take more off, but you can't put any back on! Btw mcowling, I responded to your PM.
