    Headed to the range tomorrow!

I've had my 1911B-1 for almost two weeks now and haven't fired a shot yet...my fault. Any words of wisdom out there for a first time 1911 shooter, other than point, pull the trigger, smile, repeat 50 to 100 times. I'll post a report when I get back.

Panda you've been around here long enough so I won't mention the clean your gun and magazine(s) before you go out for the first time rule... but then again I don't see a pic of your new pride and joy...

Have fun! Looking forward to the range report

Yes indeed Cooper, she's been cleaned, inspected (by me), two new Wilson Combat magazines, and a fresh set of homemade grips (also by me). I posted the pics when I finished the grips, but here they are since you missed them.

Panda grips look sharp. I've been out of town for a few weeks so I'm behind by about 1000 posts, sorry I missed the original gun porn.

You're going to love it, nothing shoots, or has a trigger like a 1911 (IMHO) been in love with them for 30+ years. Keep us updated!!

Well, everything they say is true about the 1911, it is truly an awesome pistol. I tried to post a detailed range report a minute ago, but I messed it up somehow with too large an attachment. Suffice to say, mine was FLAWLESS through 100 rounds of mixed ammo. No FTF, or FTE, and the trigger is incredible compared to any of my other polymer pistols. John Moses Browning did a good job on this weapon and so did Taurus (IMHO).

Welcome to the club Panda, and if you think that trigger is smooth now, it just gets better the more you shoot it! Not too shabby for a 98 year pistol design!
