Taurus Magazines junk?

I have a PT1911 that seems to FTF only with Taurus magazines. Has anyone had the same problem? If so, have you found a cure? I do have a Wilson, and CMC mag to use, but I would like to be able to use the factory mags for range use. I guess I can use them for malfunction drills.

I have one that has been flawless, and the other, just minor odds and ends. Yesterday, it was failing to lock open on an empty mag, about 3 times in 100 rounds. The gun has 3000+ rounds through it. I can mess with the mag and clear it up for awhile or cause something different, but I wouldn't call it junk for the range. I may eventually get some high end mags in the future, but for the range, I don't complain.

Both of my Taurus mags work flawlessly. Having said that, I own 3 Kimber mags in addition, because quite frankly they cost $20 or so less than the Taurus mags, and function just as well.

Same here also,both mags I got with the gun always work so normally I take these to the range when I go,but I also have 2 Wilson ETM mags that work.Haven't had a problem with any of them.

I have had no problems with mine either, but I have them backed up with Wilson 47D's if they ever do. I would suggest you contact Taurus and let them know of the problem. There was another poster here somewhere in the forum that did just that and Taurus sent him 2 new mags that worked flawlessly. Another thing you could do is try replacing the springs with Wolf Springs and see what happens.

I changed the followers in mine after I changed the slide stop with an extended one.

The 2 I got with my PT1911 only like to have 7 rounds in them. I changed springs and still I get a nose dive with the first round.

Mine work fine, I shoot ball and SWC. I've also used plain no name mags, no problems.

1 good and 1 bad. The bad one has a bad spring it binds try Novak they are identical to Taurus but with better springs I also use CM and Wilson.

If you guys wouldn't mistreat your mags, they wouldn't give you any problems.
