    Help with 709 extractor

I decided to clean out the extractor on my 709. No problem taking it apart and keeping things in order but, when I went to put it back togeather I noticed (shoud have when I took it apart) that the extractor spring pin (part 1.22) was cut on a bevel and I don't know if the bevel goes up or down. The exploded view in the manual shows it to either face into the slide or to face down. Any insights to help me fix dumb-ass.

Pretty sure the bevel in the pin faces out tward the extractor(away from the slide).Same thing happened to me.It just seemed to go that way.I've ran 100 rounds through it since then.Test it after you put it back together but chambering a round then rack the slide to see if it pulls the round out.Let me know how it works out.

tommotto I tried it both ways and it seems to work either way I just don't want to break the pin or extractor.

The beveled edge(ramp) on the extractors spring plunger works best for me if it faces in board of the slide. I tried it facing out, and could not keep the extractor in the gun. Just a slight wiggle of the extractor would send the extractor/plunger/spring across the room. ...........my 2cts your results may vary.

Jaxgunslinger that started to happen with me too I got to looking at the extractor and there is a notch in it that the plunger fits in so I figure the slope of the plunger goes goes toward the slide facing slightly down. It seems to work better that way too.

To be honest I'm not really sure which configuration is correct. I just know what worked for me.

tommotto, no problem since it's easy now to pull everything. I messed with it enough now I can almost do it blindfolded.
