A suppressor (can) or a compensator can be added.
Hello,
I am looking at the S&W M&P 22. On the reviews, it says that it has an "all important" threaded barrel for "Extra Goodies"....What does this mean? What king of extra goodies?![]()

My GSG 1911 came with a fake suppressor or some call them silencers and the compensator adds weight for more control and less muzzle flip.
Here is what mine looks like with the suppressor on it.
And here's a website that sells compensators CW Accessories LLC | Products
O COOL!! Thanks MissKitty!! That looks like one in the movies!!!!

Threaded barrels are now available for the Ruger SR22, but they're kinda pricy. I'd like one for a REAL can/silencer.
Now, a compensator works via deflecting the gasses of combustion upward and somewhat rearward to fight recoil. But, in a .22, the weight might help, but there's hardly any gasses of combustion to matter. I don't know that a true compensator would be available for a .22, but muzzle weights are likely. It's common to hang weights off target pistols to affect both balance and recoil.
