    605 Hammer issue

Hi all, I'm having a problem with single-action and sometimes double-action on my 605. In SA, the hammer stops in mid-fall, catching on something, when I pull the trigger. In DA, it feels like an obstruction of some sort in the hammer path if the trigger is pulled in rapid succession. I've looked at it with the side plate removed (making sure I didn't let the hammer fall, lest I bend the hammer pivot.) Can't see what it's catching on. Any thoughts?

All I have is two guesses without seeing the gun.

    1. The hammer spring center pin is installed backwards?

    2. The transfer bar is hanging on something when it is going upwards? Check by cocking and pulling the trigger (unloaded gun of course) with gun pointed upwards, gun horizontal, and gun pointed downwards.

The gun will have to be taken down further to inspect for burrs, bad parts, or just send it back to Taurus.

Thanks! I"ll probably end up sending it, but I wanted to ask in case it was something obvious.
You know, in looking at your disassembly photos, I'd venture to guess that when the trigger is pulled in single action, the DA sear is catching on the trigger, as though the sear engagement hook of the trigger is slipping under the DA sear and stopping the hammer travel. That's "if" the DA sear can extend further than it's supposed to.
