The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are out numbered by the people that vote for a living

'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.' Thomas Jefferson

I love the blow-by-blow descriptions you did. Makes for a great procedure for this gun. Good job !
When Leonidas was preparing to make his stand, a Persian envoy arrived. The envoy explained to Leonidas the futility of trying to resist the advance of the huge Persian army and demanded that the Spartans lay down their arms. Leonidas told Xerxes "MOLON LABE", or "Come And Get Them."

Thankyou all for the positive feedback. It motivates me to document some of my other future gun projects. My next one will be a saiga 12 pistol grip conversion on a firends saiga.

Love the black and stainless look.

Any reason why you decided the mag release and barrel bushing should be black? I think it looks good, but my mind has a stainless bushing with a stainless barrel and guide rod really popping when in slide lock.

Again great job, and I think you might be a little hard on yourself for the coating job, it looks great!
Well when I was fitting parts before duracoating I just didn't feel the mag release looked right in stainless. I was going for a flat black with subtle hints of stainless to break it up. I've never been a fan of black 1911's that have almost everything but the slide and frame in stainless. Ie stainless trigger, grip safety, thumb safety, etc.... I don't have a problem with it, its just not my cup of tea so to speak.
I actually did consider doing a stainless barrel bushing. The problem is I would be compeld to crown the barrel and the inside of the bushing. I figured that would be taking it to far. Also just a hint of stainless from the barrel its self is part of my subtle sainless accents.
