    Resale value.... PT 92, 909,911,917,945

What would I expect to get for a (Very well-maintained) used PT92 stainless, and how would that sale price compare to buying a used 909, 911, 917, or even a 945 in stainless? Do the 900 series guns fetch more, since they aren't as plentiful?

I would think it depends on your area. In the Pawn Shops in Miami I see the used PT-92/99's selling for the same price as the new ones. $425.00 and up. Every time I see one I inquire about the price. It just blows me away. They don't sit around they sell.

I have been scanning numerous auction sites for 900's lately and here are my general observations.
I have seen SS PT92's in the $425-475 range move pretty well, the 909 and 911 can be found new on gunsamerica for $350-380, and used I have seen them listed for $375-425. The 917 is harder to find and I have seen them from $375-450. The 945 is rarer still and they seem to be in the $400-475 range.

The 909 and 911 are going for more used than new? Was that a typo?

I never understood how/why a used firearm that's not special (limited edition, out of production) costs more than a brand new one. PT92s can be had for $450 or so, new. Unless you save on tax by buying from out of state.

The 92/900 series seem to run in the $350-$450 range for used ones in the Pittsburgh, PA area. Depending on overall condition and ammunition type respectively.

Because it is priced at the owner perceived value not level headed market value.

But but.... you can shop around and find a brand new one for the same price if you stay off Gunbroker for a second.

I guess it all boils down to what you want, when you want it, and what your willing to pay.

I purchased a NIB PT-101P over the weekend from the original owner. Never fired, perfect example of a 101P. I thought OK, this may make my perfect bedside nightstand choice. A high capacity .40s&w semi auto pistol with 2 each magazines holding 16 rounds each. These were sold new at Academy Sporting Goods and are now discontinued. I paid $325 and was pleased with the price.

I don't buy online or from pawn shops.

I like to do the touchy feely thing, that's why I don't buy online.

As far as pawn shops go, where I live they are a total ripoff.

The bad news is that Taurus doesn't draw big money on the used market. The good news is, they don't draw allot of money on the new market either.
