Nice looking find you came up with. I like those grips, they are a little different in a very suddle way. Make sure you come back and share your first time out to shoot if with us.
I saw a great deal (270$) on a mid 90's pt-99 that I couldn't resist. It didnt come with a mag so I ordered a mecgar 18 rounder. Is there anything I should be aware of with this gun other than enjoy it? I have always wanted one being similar to the M9. Are there any spare parts that I should have on hand for it?. I fired two primed brass in the garage for function check and plan to shoot it this Monday (memorial day blast out)

Very nice, mine is a 1990 and it is still my favorite gun and the most accurate. Mine has never given me any problems so I do not have any spare parts.

Nice 99.
I've had mine since 1992, it eats everything, zero problems. Some things were just meant to be enjoyed.
Thank you, to all who serve; past, present and future. It is people, like you, who are willing to serve that have made this a great nation. I pray for your safety, your family, and the leaders that make decisions that affect you. I will always pray for and respect the office of the President of the United States, I don't have to like the person elected. Until he comes, or calls me home, here by the power of Christ I'll stand.

Fantastic deal!!!You did good, as it looks to be in very good/great condition given it's age.
No Mag??? Very strange! Down the Road, I recommend you get at least 4 more Magazines for it, if possible. Always have at least two spares on hand.
Typically, No. Enjoy it!
Perhaps a spare Locking Block. Read my FAQ (in the site FAQ section) on Locking Blocks. Some last forever and others about 7,000 rounds or so. Some here have used Grease on theirs and have never needed to replace them, I have noted. Me, not so lucky. But then I've shot my PT92 in USPSA/IPSC, which can be very very demanding.

Well thank you all. Ill keep the locking block in mind. I did notice some barrel play with the slide forward but we will see on Monday how she runs.

Congratulations on your new (to you) firearm.
Nice find, I have 3 PT-99's and they all eat anything I feed them and all have been problem free. I still need the newest version with a rail to complete my collection of the 4 variants I have seen, not including the stainless versions. I have several after market magazines, including some Beretta magazines that I had to notch out with a Dremel tool. They all work just fine.
