Man I keep going back to look at those grips, probably the nicest factory wood grips I have seen yet.

I just got done retouching the sights here at work with some white enamel. I keep wanting to order up some pachmayr grips but I like the wood to much.

I have a 99 no decock with pachmayrs, it is my FAVORITE gun by a long shot!! just put a couple of drops of oil on the block after you shoot it. I have had ZERO!!! i repeat ZERO problems. This older model 99/92 it by far the best of TAURUS by a long shot. Infact I am doing an expiriment on mine to see if I can get it to malfunction. I have not cleaned it in 600rds so far....still ZERO problems. All I have done is oil the block. I will shoot another 1000 or so before I clean it or unleas it starts to have problems.

p.s. I did not know I could get 18rd mags for it....I have two 15rds Guess what I am odering!!!!

Does the 18 rounder stick out farther then the factory mag? I have seen 10, 15, and 17 rounders that are flush. 20 and 30 rounders stick out, but are fun at least 1 time. I think the 30 round was a modified Beretta mag.

I just got the mecgar 18 round mag in the mail. It is a flush fit like a factory 15 round. It also has round count holes in the back like a glock. Now I have the mecgar and a notched out promag 15 rounder off of a Beretta. (I know pro mag sucks)

Like many others have said, I love those grips. I have an '88 PT99 and your grips are much nicer. I'm kind of jealous.

$270 was a smokin' good deal. For magazines you can check your local pawn shops and gun stores for used 15-rd and 17-rd Taurus units. In this area I can usually find used mags for around $15.

I've had my 101 since the early 90's and I still love it. I'm sure you are going to have a lot of enjoyable range time with your new gun.

    Range report on pt-99

Not to shabby for 30 yards. I had to put on some locktite to keep the rear sight from wiggling around but it was great after that.

Tried out some of this hornady "non expanding" HAP ammo. The phone books soaked with water said it expands just fine.
