    Taurus PT-100 Transformer Edition

Last year I purchased a stainless PT-100 with the pearl grips. This last Monday I purchased another PT-100 in black. Just couldn't pass up on the price $369.99 from a local dealer.

So this evening I got both PTs out and did a little swapping of parts, and here is where I am at so far. If I can figure out how to swap the slide release, mag release, safety, hammer and trigger I will do that also. But for the time being here ya go!!

    What ya think?

Nice I like the duo tone with pearl grips look.

Love the look of both. Make sure you didn't lose any accuracy, though. Nice price on the black, btw.

Oh yeah! Now that's cool! You just might give Taurus an idea as to a special edition they should introduce!

Since you asked... I've never been a fan of pearl grips, or imitation pearl grips. I think a contrasting wood grip, or faux ivory would look better.

Have not had an opportunity to fire them since doing the swap. I can't see where there should be an issue since Taurus does not really use matched barrels and slides. As far as feel goes they seem to be the same as in their original state.

As for the pearl grips, I kinda like them for two reasons..1st being the look, 2nd is the size, it takes big hands to grasp around the pearl grips. I do think I will change the screws out on the black grips to stainless however, just for the contrast.
