    GM446884 PT638 Handgun Semi-Auto Double Action .380 ACP 3-1/4" 28 oz. 3-Dot Matte Stainless Synthetic $399.99*
    In Stock

    Product Description (BLUED)
Designed for personal protection, the PT638 is a small-framed pistol with legendary Taurus quality shooters have come to expect. Calibered for .380 ACP rounds, the 638 uses the same frame as the PT111, a frame that has a compact size with the heft of a larger gun to reduce felt recoil. The addition of an accessory rail makes the PT638 adaptable for a variety of extras. 3-3/4" blued barrel. Synthetic grip. Holds 15 rounds.

    -------------------

Academy has had PT609 and PT640 as Black Friday Specials, but the PT 600 series has been hard to find elsewhere; this is the PT638 in .380. The listing above explicitly says that this has the SAME frame as the PT 111. I wonder if by extension, we could surmise that the PT609 has the same frame as the PT111, and the PT640 (which I purchased on Black Friday) has the same frame as the PT140. Any ideas?

Why not? Ford and Mercury used to share a lot of parts.

It certainly is possible. I know the PT140 and PT111 do share the same frame. There may also be slight modifications, or frame inserts, used for each different model/application. Magazines certainly are NOT shared between those models, so if you had that in mind, you're out of luck there!

Yeah, I was hoping the pt111 mag would fit the 24/7. But the 24/7 mag will run in the pt111.
