Be careful when you are shooting, looks like perhaps your grip is pushing up on it while you are firing?
I've been getting a lot of scrapes coming from the slide-catch recently. If you look right under the taurus seal you can see what i'm talking about. I'm not saying this is a big deal, just wondering if this is happening to anyone else. I can't seem to find the source of the scratching.

mine is from 1986 and does not show any marks on the slide. Take it apart and look at the back side of the slide catch for wear. It could be bent just a bit as well. If you have a stainless slide (hard to tell from the photo the top looks blued but the side looks stainless) you can clean it up with some wet/dry paper and some polishing compound.
it's blued, i can see how it can look stainless though. i've taken the catch off and i don't see anything out of the ordinary/wear/bent. it doesn't happen everytime i put the slide back too. what the heck can it be!?Originally Posted by bellarum
