PT92 Grip is too big for my small hand .. what else in 9mm 4 me?

my neighbor has a PT92 9mm and its just not comfortable in my hand .. i know that my PT145 fits perfect .. what pistol has adjustable/replaceable sights, smaller grip (like the PT145), 5" barrel and reasonable to clean (like not using a damn hammer, punch and gymnastics) and of course accurate in 9mm? .. something to shoot up to at least 25 yds .. i was hoping for another Taurus, but beggars can't be choosy .. my biggest problem is finding a gun shop where i can "feel" the gun .. i have purchased all my Tauri sight unseen .. not disappointed yet ..
    i already have the PT111, PT140, PT145 & the Judge ..
after the 9mm purchase i will be looking for a 5" 22 cal for paper punching etc.

The PT1911's would have a smaller or slimmer grip and some day Taurus may actually release it for sale in 9mm. But, until that happens your choices are .45acp or .38Super. You could also go with thinner grips, depending on how much too big the grip is for you. Finally, the PT809 might be just right as it is not only a thinner grip but also has interchangeable back straps to fit different size hands. I have the PT845 which is the .45acp version and it is a very comfortable gun to shoot.

Perhaps one of the 8 or 7 series is all I can think of in Taurus. However looking for a gun similar to the PT92 in accuracy perhaps a CZ, Springfield or glock etc might do it for you.

Re: PT92 Grip is too big for my small hand .. what else in 9mm 4 me?

    agghh .. %$#@ .. .. i tried searching the Taurus site for PT809, PT 809, PT-809 .. then i tried looking at all the "800 series" guns .. still couldn't find it .. i did find a 1911 9mm (must have been an accident)
    http://www.taurususa.com/product-det...crumbseries=19 ..

so then i went to Springfield .. lots of pretty pictures .. but every time i clicked on a 9mm pic they were pushing the XDM 45 .. can't seem to find crap today ..

i tried the CZ site .. lots of info and great looking pics .. but i could buy 3 Taurus for the prices they want .. geesh .. i am old and on SS .. the gun i really liked was only $1700 .. sure, i will go out and get one with my next check .. WAIT, i need 2 checks! .. LoL

i wonder if i find the 9mm, will my hunt for a 22 is going to be that difficult?

i did find this place only about 2 hours away and they say they have over 6000 guns on display and are open on Sundays too ..

Try Bud's, Gun broker etc don't look at the manufacture's sites except for models and specs. Price means little on most. Now if you want a 1911 9mm in Springfield go to the 1911 part and look at each model as they make a few of them.

Theres any number of single stacked semi autos that you can try!
In the Taurus line the mentioned Pt1911 in 38 super , or if you want to move up to a mans caliber get the 45 acp that the 1911 was designed for.
there must be 5 dozen different manufactures of model 1911's in 9mm as well.
as for needing a 22 well there are a few of them floating around out there as well.

Re: PT92 Grip is too big for my small hand .. what else in 9mm 4 me?

I have a Taurus PT840 (Black/SS) that is chambered in 40s&w (.40cal) that you would love. It holds 15+1 rounds, has 3 different size backstraps and Novak 3-dot sights. I am actually thinking about letting her go. I bought it NEW in August, have about 150 rounds thru it......but I just bought a PT845, too! I don't need them both (don't have room in the safe for both) and it needs a new home. If you are interested, let me know. If not, no biggie.
**I know you were looking for a 9mm, but to be 100% honest with you......a .40cal is a better choice. It has better ballistics and stopping power, the ammo is still cheap, and in the PT840 the recoil/impact is not even noticable vs 9mm.
    Just my 2 cents.
