Anyone have a PT99 rear sight laying around?

I'm thinking about purchasing a nice used stainless PT92 at a local gun shop, but would really like to have the adjustable rear sight. Just wondered if anyone here had upgraded their PT99 to night sights and might have their old adjustable rear sight laying around. If not, do you know where I could purchase a new Taurus adjustable rear sight? The don't sell any parts on their website apparently.

    thanks!

taurus will sell it to you.. but the slide is machined different on a pt99.. a adjustable sight will not work on a pt92.

i'd suggest you look at some of the aftermarket sights for beretta.. im not sure but i suspect they would fit a pt92.

otherwise you could buy a 99 slide, maybe gun broker.

    Joe,

That is VERY useful info to find out that the PT99 sight won't fit on the PT92 slide, considering that I am contemplating buying a used PT92 this Saturday. I suppose I have a little research to do between now and then. I did look at the LPA adjustable sights at midway.com. They list different model numbers for Taurus and Beretta 92 variants. I'm supposing either the dovetail is a different spec or the front sight is different.

    thanks again!

ah did'nt know that.. personally i like fixed sights best (assuming they're accurate to start with)

but ya i guess that would be your best bet then if you want adj on a 92.

probably different size dove tail then.. think the front sights are the same height but never measured.

99 has a grove on top and is held onto the slide via a roll pin and a spring loaded screw (elevation adjustment) no dove tail so thats why they wont work on the 92.
