Is it true you "have" to use a high velocity ammo in the little 22's because of the blow back design of the slide? What do you guys use in yours?

I have only bought and used the cheapest bulk pack, I can get. Thunder Bolts operate my PT22 very well so far. Have not shot them in my Chiappa yet.
If I was going to carry one of those in my underwear for a deep cover emergency back up, I would not consider anything except CCI Stingers to give myself every possible chance.
I surely do love Stingers.

Hey Texan
Make sure it's the right pea shooter you pull out of your pants when you are in trouble!!!!!
Thanks for the response guys. I am picking up the little gun tomorrow as a present for my wife. She has agreed to "consider" getting her CCW and this is a gun she will practice with.

and hopefully its a stainless steel version, the rust on this used weapon would be bad!Originally Posted by Smokewagon

personally this is one time i'd ignore the manual.. try stingers out if they work in your gun then i'd use them.
if there ever was such a thing as a good SD round for .22lr.. stingers would get my vote.
If you can't shoot well, shoot often.
I've always had excellent performance out of the CCI MIni-Mag loads. It runs perfectly in my PT22, and all of my other .22 pistols.
