Has anyone heard when Taurus will be releasing the Compact version of the PT809? From the looks of it in their 2010 What's New Catalog, I sure would like to have one of those.

I would wait for the next NRA or SHOT show, and see if they have one that they are trying to gauge interest in. If so, and if it goes over well, it might be released a year or two after that.

But but it's in the 2010 What's New Catalog! Are they just teasing us with a couple of pictures?

Yeah, I too am hoping for the compact 800's. Really itching for the 857c. The wait is killin me. Hopefully they make up their minds sometime this spring/summer.

Asked a Taurus CSR today when they expected to start distributing the 809 Compact and was told Q3. So hopefully within the next 6 months we'll start seeing a few of them show up at the local gun stores. Might have a new carry weapon by the end of the year, with any luck.

Hopefully, I think I can almost wait that long, the smart money is on me buying at least 1 other pistol b4 then though haha. I bet theyd get some really big interest if they put out a few adds in the standard crop of gun mags, Guns N Ammo, Guns N Weapons for LE, Guns. I wonder why the only one I ever seem to see in those mags is the Judge.

I see this is a old thread so I'm gonna revive it.

I bought a PT-845 stainless last week and like it so much I just ordered a PT-809 compact today.

I may have ordered a full size but I have so many fullsize double action 9mm already and dont have any compact 9mm with hammers so this made more sense for my collection.

Anyone else buy one yet ?
