    PT58HC SS at Pawn shop

    Hi Guys!
What do you think of this?
Saw this today at a pawn shop and it's beautiful, has an awesome trigger, and would match my PT92SSAFS like a little brother!
I searched mags and saw one for $100 which I do not like but hey...
Wish it was $100 cheaper but this looks about right price wise. What do you think?

It certainly is a beauty! $500 seems a little steep but I don't really know pricing on that gun. I guess it depends on how bad the buyer wants it!

Nice looking piece. Rare?, 19 rounds? I thought the PT58 was 12 rounds.
Again it very nice but would be out of my price range.

Does seem kind of pricey, but gunbroker completed auctions show bupkis. I'd try to talk him down too, and use the pricey mags as a reason.

I researched this once and this is the way I remember it:

There was a 58S, 58SD (for Decocker), 58HC, and a 58HC Plus. The first two were 12 rounders, the HC a 15 rounder, and the HC Plus was just an HC with an extended 19 round magazine. I believe it also takes the 15 round mags. I think the first two take the same mags, as do the last two.

These are the stainless guns, plus there's the blued 58 which was 12 rounds. And there were blued HC's I'm pretty sure.

Is there a Cabela's near you? If so, take the specs to them and ask to use their Blue Book. It gives gun values and is your best source for actual value. Otherwise, the old adage "Cash talks, everything else walks" applies. It doesn't look like a consignment so dicker to whatever price you are comfortable with. Like used cars, used guns are worth the difference between what the seller wants and the buyer will pay.
Whatever adjective or verb comes to mind, I am...NotSo.

One of my goals in life is to shoot more people on purpose than I do by accident. So far, so good.

I've only seen PT58SSHC+ versions. The PT58 magazines (12 round), do NOT fit the PT58HC+. Sadly, I've never even seen a PT58HC with a 15 round magazine. I own a blued, pre-decocker, PT58, and a PT58SSHC+. Bought it several years ago. It does have a fine trigger in both DA and SA, is accurate, and the mags are about as expensive as those for other low production, high-capacity, guns. Right around $50.00 each. Look at the FNP45 mags for comparison.

The grip on the HC+ is longer than on the PT 58. It's pretty much a holster-size Duty gun in .380 ACP. Maybe the FBI should switch to them? Even more capacity in a smaller grip frame. Low recoil, and less flash and bang. Should help those flagging scores. AND, "surgeons can't tell the difference in the wounds" as it's the same as the 9x19 in bullet diameter.

I would offer them $350 for it and they might come back at $450. Make a final offer of $400 and see what happens. It's a pawn shop and I bet they didn't give over $250 for it...
