A couple of months ago I came to the realization that a suppressed .22 rifle might be one of the handiest tools in many SHTF situation for obvious reasons, the least of which is the ability to get game without alerting the whole neighborhood.
Savage wasn't reading my mind, they were ahead of me. Even though many handgun manufactures are now selling pistols with pre-threaded barrels, a couple of companies now have came out with pre-threaded rifles.
The savage model 64 TR-SR semi-auto is one of them and has easy mount top Pitcairn rail for whatever sighting you desire and a marksman style stock. The store I saw it in was $299 and seemed very reasonable, however I think my favorite gun shop will be about $40 less when he gets one.

That's an amazing price for that rifle. It looks just like my model 10 308. Hopefully there is a standard thread size so one suppressor will fit many of our firearms.
ArmaLite AR-10, A Burst of One.
I haven't verified it but I think it is 1/2" X 28 threads. I think you can get an adapter that has 1/2 x 28 female to 1/2" x 20 male also.

I was checking on the mark 2 bolt model myself and from the specs Ive found they are 1/2x28 tpi. Now Ive gotto buy a can and a stamp to go with my Walther p22 and ruger 10/22
If guns kill people mine are all defective
Of all the races in America, only whites have been tricked into thinking that a preference for one’s own kind is racism.
That's a good deal, but once you've ponied up the cash and jumped through the hoops to get your suppressor, you'll wonder why you cared. You definitely have a good idea about wanting a suppressed .22.
My goal is to pick up a 5.56 suppressor that will work on an AR15 barrel with my first tax stamp. They are a couple hundred more on average than .22 suppressors, but after it's said and done, I think I'll be more than happy I went that way. That way it can be used on a .22 as well.
I'm not dropping a grand on a suppressor that will fit my $300 gun's barrel. Instead, I'll buy whatever suppressor I want, then go about finding a .22 rifle and pistol with the proper threads, or have one threaded for $50.
