Actually, there is a way around that.
All you have to do is file the Corner (all 4) of the Angled Ridge of the magazine and they seat just fine, be they Thermold or Orlite. Found this out during the 94 AWB days, by necessity, the hard way. This Ridge was meant to serve as a stop to keep the Magazine from going too deep into the Magazine Well. On some Lowers it keeps the Magazine from seating.
Those Thermold 20 rounders at CDNN are very tempting. I have 6 Colt 20 rounders.

I've got a few Tapco mags. They're tight but lock in securely and I haven't had any issues firing.
When Leonidas was preparing to make his stand, a Persian envoy arrived. The envoy explained to Leonidas the futility of trying to resist the advance of the huge Persian army and demanded that the Spartans lay down their arms. Leonidas told Xerxes "MOLON LABE", or "Come And Get Them."

Man, I wish I could have Pmags, you should see what we have to pay here in NY for crappy preban 30 round mags...at least we can put magpul followers in them

Fort, why can you not have Pmags? are they not legal in NY?
Not unless they were made before '94 and I don't think Magpul was around then. We have the remnants of the Assault Weapons ban here so no mags larger than 10 unless made before the ban which was '94 I believe. Most of the pre bans I can find are 20 to 30 bucks each...

they missed it by 5yrs, they started in 1999, I have heard nothing but positive about Magpul, it took me a while to actually consider buying a plastic/polymer magazine.
My M&P 15 came with the P-Mag. I've ordered a 20 and another 30 rounder, and I'm very pleased with them. Not the cheapest thing out there, but good magazines!![]()

I snapped up ten of the twenty round thermolds, but I haven't managed to get my lazy butt to the range with them yet. One thing I noticed about the twenties is that they don't have an anti-tilt follower. Don't need it in a twenty, but a thirty can be a different story. I don't know if the thirties have them or not, but for $6.99 I'm guessing not. I wouldn't leave these magazines loaded for extended periods of time either as the lips might not like it. I've got my pmags loaded with the dust covers in place, and these thermolds are going to be for range duty. I figure the twenty round mags will be just the ticket for bench rest shooting. For less than five bucks per mag delivered, and for their intended purpose, I don't see how you can beat 'em.

Stay away from promags! im not too fond of the usgi flimsy gunshow 30rd'ers either. Pmags are good, so are colt mags with metal followers.......ive actually had good luck with bushmaster mags with the orange anti tilt followers too.
