I didn't so much build it per se, but it's purchase was inspired by all of you guys here and your awesome ARs!



Forgive the cruddy camerphone pic, but here she is in all her glory, upstaging my Mini-14 in 6.8 with a Redfield scope. Alyssa's a Rock River Arms Varmit A4 Varmint, 20-inch barrel with a cheapy NCstar Wannabe ACOG on a bipod who's maker I've forgotten. I picked me up 3 boxes of good .223 Hollowpoints for when-needed, and one of those ammo cans of surplus 5.56. She's so much fun she should be illegal in some states(which she is!), and will serve as a more than adequate basis for future expansion.

I'll also snag a pic of my dad's Stag 6.8 lefty once his goodies arrive.

Thanks for wasting our money TA! Can't wait for you to talk me into doing it again!

Just finished my AR for now, until I can afford an optic and more misc things.

Started with a Daniel Defense V4 flat top upper in 16"
Got a Palmetto State Armory Gasden lower, with a Daniel Defense parts kit.
Magpul CTR stock, Magpul ASAP rear strap mount, and BUIS on the front and rear

MS3 strap and MIAD grip that should be here this coming Wednesday
And eventually i'll save up and buy an EOTech or Microtech but we'll see
Ordered a Breakout 51T Compensator w/ supressor mount (plan on using a friends Supressor sometimes when we go to the range) and eventually convert it to a SBR and get a supressor at some point.

Nice rifle A05C!

I've really been liking what I see and read about DD's stuff. And if you add up all the extras you get with their stuff it's resonably priced also. Everytime I start looking to price parts to make up what I want, I can find a complete DD rifle for the same price, which also comes with a guarantee.

Like the cold hammer forged, chrome lined, 1-7 twist barrel; mid-length gas system, partical tested barrels and bolts, flared magwell, nice free floating quad rail.

I may be pulling the trigger on one of them soon, pardon the pun..

Have you shot yours yet? How'd it do?

I was looking at all the 5.56 options until I was dizzy, so I chickened out on my 'first' and bought the COLT LE6940 for $1199 instead of building. It is comforting to know I have somebody to call if it doesn't go BANG. I'm looking again to move up in caliber, so I'd appreciate some feedback on 6.8(SPC/SPCII) or 308/7.62. I'm not set on brands, but from what I've seen the 6.8SPCII with 1:11 barrel, or the .308WIN with a 1:10, gives you 'backward compatibility' (for lack of a better term) with ammo, correct?? Thanks.

This is for GP/Zombie use, and 'just because I can', with some 2-300m range time thrown in for good measure.

Yep I've put close to 100 rounds through it of various makes of ammunition and so far its been flawless. I spent a few months talking with a close friend of mine about what would work well and what would last forever. So after much deliberation I decided to pick up the DD upper from Rainier Arms. I ordered the lower directly from Palmetto state armory along with the parts kit (DD also).
I got the cheaper Lower for now, eventually I would like to get the Seekins Precision billet lower (I love billet things haha)

I had like 885.xx shipped to my door. So yes it a little expensive, but you get what you pay for
