Announcing the TATTSO - Taurus Armed Twenty Two Shoot Out - the "Official" thread.

The idea has been proposed, seconded and approved in another thread that we have a .22 LR shoot out. The rules are simple.
1. Caliber is .22 Long Rifle
2. Range is 100 yards.
3. Course of fire is 5 rounds.
4. Entry consists of a photograph of the target with a ruler in the picture to verify measurements.
5. Deadline is midnight November 1.
6. Prize for best group is bragging rights until next November.

I would also propose that the winner has to post a picture of his gun.
Now, unless someone with some actual artistic talent will step forward and volunteer, I will come up with some kind of logo that the winner can use during his reign as King of the Teeny-weenies.

That sounds like a grand idear. Is it just .22 or are .17s allowed? Just asking dont want to get this too involved.

I will go with the 100yds, but would also like the 50yds iron sights only. Don't know how I would do but I'm game. Will try it Sat. will be using paper plates with the 1' stick on orang/red/blue etc.

At the moment it's a pretty big assumption that you will get to be called anything - gotta back it up with targets!

This is a great idea! At the distances given it's going to be a rifle event though. How about adding a .22LR pistol event also?

I've been thinking of having a different event each year. And .22 pistol is sure on my short list.

I've run shooting events before, and while this one is being run on the cheap, I still expect a fair amount of work will result. If this is going to work KISS is the proper principle to follow. And it might not have to be just one a year. Let's see how it evolves.

I would hate to exclude those who can only use a 50 yard range, so if I come up with a reduced version of the target for 50 yards, would that be acceptable for the shoot out?
