Hey everyone I haven't been on in a while, I guess the heat has been keeping me from the range so nothing new to post. Anyways, as some of you know I had two GP100's, I sold the one and decided to use the money on some new guns. I wanted a replacement carbine for my Calico I recently sold, but in .40 S&W like the rest of my pistols. The SUB-2000 is even harder to find, and cost a bit more than a Hi Point. Beretta CX4 would be great to go along with my Cougar, but cost more than my Calico which is to much for me.
So, why not buy brand new Hi Points, a pistol and a carbine for .40 S&W, some extra mags and accessories for the same price as Kel-Tec SUB-2000? Id be lucky to get a Kel-Tec SUB2000 for under $450, even if I could find one locally which is impossible. The carbine will see a lot of range time and maybe some hunting. The pistol is going to serve "Truck Gun" duty, so I do not have to leave my expensive pistols in my vehicle.
I called every gun store within 50 miles and nobody had new in the box Hi-Points, im not going to lie it was frustrating. Called one from Hi Point dealer locater. Finally found one, the place had a used 9mm I told him politely I wanted a new one so he gave me his FFL information so I could order one online. Here is what I got from Bud's for $500.00 free shipping, everything new in the box and Lifetime warranty. Good deal?

Enjoy. I may be in the market for the carbine on 9mm or 45 ACP soon.
Well if you want one cheap (good luck finding a new one in any caliber) get a old 9mm carbine, those are the only ones I could find locally in Austin, Tx. A lot of people buy these and never take care of them because some consider these "disposable fire-arms." I think that is why some of the used ones may not work so well, that 9mm I saw was a class 3 nightmare mess by any standards.

I have one of the 9mm carbines and love it. It was dead on with the factory iron sights, and a simple efficient way to shoot a rifle that hits harder than a .22. Bought mine new at Cabela's for $200, and picked up a double rifle case and 200 rounds of ammo and without even cracking $275 total. If I had my choice I would have gotten one in .45 ACP so I would have matched ammo with my 945, but oh well. The next thing I plan on doing is picking up a few extra mags for it and the holder that bolts into the back of the stock. I was debating on a secondary magnification scope instead of the red dot I have on it, but finding one at a decent price for a weaver rail isn't always the easiest thing to do. Have fun with your new .40's, they should be a blast.

Lucked out I guess, found a Class three FFL dealer who operates without advertisement, more word of mouth than anything. He sold me the last new Hi Point carbine within a 100 miles radius of Austin, Tx, no sales taxes, shipping or waiting period. Went and picked it up today. I also got a nice carbine soft case for it and some Federal law enforcement .40 S&W 165 grain, total it was $320. I canceled my order with Buds, but I still had them send me everything besides the carbine. Here it is:
Made it to a nearby indoor range for a really short test run. I couldn't wait to test her out, used five, ten round magazines so a total of fifty rounds. I used to shoot my friends old 9mm carbine when I was a teenager, and boy this gun really brings back some fun memories. Anyways, as you can see in the picture of the target below, my first magazine grouping is in the top right corner. I was aiming center mass in the center of the target, so obviously everything was high to the right. Easy fix, starting getting tight grouping dead center at 25 yards, then finished off the next two magazines at 50 yards, still leans to the right a little bit at 50 yards as you can see. Only one FTF, 1 outta 50 is not bad. I checked out the round and it got stuck on the feed ramp, did not really bother me though cause the gun is being broken in, that is to be expected occasionally. Over-all, I was extremely impressed with overall accuracy and performance for a gun that is considered by some to be at the bottom of the pistol caliber carbine totem pole. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase, this could the beginning to a great friendship. I called Hi-Point to ask about suggested break-in ammo. They were very polite and answered all my answers, very professional and helpful. If you got $275.00 and need a new carbine, pick one up, you wont be disappointed.

For anyone interested in picking up one of those old ragged out hi point carbines cheap, you can send it in and they will refurbish it, I think for free. You can get them to put a current stock on it as well. I read an account on the hi point forums where someone sent a gun that was destroyed in a fire, and hi point sent them a new pistol. No questions asked. So might be worth the headache if you find one cheap.
+1 agree for the good warranty and customer service from Hi-Point.
the update and the repair are free. but the upgrading the stock from the 995 classic to 995TS is not free. The TS stock is $40 just for part and few dollors more for labor.
The classic model does not have LRHO which cannot be updated.

Bud's over-nighted my scope and extra mags for free ups to my door, now I get to zero in with the scope, this is exciting. The scope is really cool, sling is not long enough for me though.

Congratulation Long_Shot on your new hi-point carbine! Load up the magazines for couple weeks to break them in. You may consider putting some Locktite on the charging handle bolt. And most important, stock up on ammo’s and keep that 4095ts well fed. Somehow, the hi-point carbines are hunger for ammo's. you will fall in love with yours quick. Enjoy.
