Well, y'all know that I was in the market for a new .40 S&W auto, and there were several models under consideration: The S&W Sigma SW40VE, the S&W SD40, The Hi Point JCP 40,the HK USP 40, the Taurus PT140 Pro, and the Bersa 40 Pro.
Well, I didn't wind up buying any of those. I walked into my LGS with cash in hand, and I walked out with a Ruger SR40. I actually did a lot of research on the SR40, and I have owned Rugers in the past (P89 & P91), so I feel confident with the build and reliability of the brand. I am am pretty excited about my latest purchase, and will have to let y'all know how everything worked out after a range session....

I haven't seen any real torture tests yet. I did see one posting that had 1500 rounds through the SR40 w/o a hitch, but that's about it. However, I have read a ton of reviews, both professional and amateur, and virtually all have had nothing but good to say about the SR40....

I have around 2500 rounds thru my SR40. 3 or 4 hundred factory(Winchester and Hornady) the rest my own loads. Never a failure in anyway.I love this gun.
Dude those are sweet 40's it would be interesting to do a Glock 23 comparision just to see if it stacks up.
