lighter spring for sigma at midway usa

I did some research and Midway USA has a spring that lightens the trigger by 3 1/2 lbs or so. 3 something for the spring, but about 9 something shipped. Paid the $ and it's on the way.

Hey FB, let us know how that works out. I am currently considering a SW40VE as my next auto, so your experience with the new spring would be quite useful....

I'm assuming it's the striker spring that you're going to replace? If so you probably want to thoroughly test it with your carry ammo to make sure you don't get light strikes with the lighter spring. Probably not an issue as firearms are almost always over sprung, but worth mentioning. I hate those kinds of surprises. That being said, I've only got one pistol with the stock springs installed - all the rest got tuned.

dbeardsleet it does mention some ammo doesn't work right. I will definitively test it with the hydrashocks. I read some threads and only saw positive about it. Going from 12 or so to 8 or so shouldn't matter but we will see. The threads also stated you can let SW know it is "gritty". They pay postage both ways, redo trigger and it comes back lighter.

Revolver you got it. The gun worked fine and was accurate as is. I have no concerns as is that if it hit the fan, this would do the job.

What's the # on the spring? I have a 9mm Sigma and am considering a new spring. I really want to know how yours works out.

The website said 3 1/2 lbs lighter. From what I have read, the sigma is about 12 on purpose.

Might try some Sellier & Bellot. They're known for their hard primers, so if it will shoot them it will probably shoot anything. Besides - they're relatively cheap and they shoot hard. JAT

Wife and I both had 9VE's. Four years mine and three hers. S&W did trigger work on mine, still not satisfied I did more and worked the wife's. Polishing, no ball point pen springs etc. Both were much improved and many rounds no malfs. Great weapons. Wife wanted something smaller and lighter for EDC and I have been wanting a Glock G30 45ACP. So we ended up with a G26 , or "Baby Glock" 9mm for Franne and I got my G30. Got 12 round mags for the G26 and the grip is big enough for her now to get a good grip. Mine is fine but I had to have one 13 round mag. It's like putting a bad suit on an ugly man but the truth be known, you will never get a Glock trigger with a Sigma. They ain't a 1911 but "what a differance"! Loved the Sigma's but the Glocks are better shooters.

I am a fan of the sigma. We have debated this many, many times in the sigma forum.

My vote goes for accepting it for what it is, leaving it alone and have fun.
