    Puma 1911 in 22LR at Bud's under $200 delivered

Just got a note from Bud's Gun Shop telling me that they are selling Puma 1911s chambered in 22LR for under $200 delivered. I already have a MK III 22/45 so I don't need another 1911 trainer but if the Puma brand works for you, that is a nice price.

I received my Email alert from Buds earlier today on this. I am one of those caliber snobs that belive that a 22lr belongs in a rifle for little varment game or tin can plinking. Don't see much need for a .22 pistol....yea, not enough power behind it, no big bang. See told you up front I was a caliber snob. Of course back in the day the .22 was very popular for...... we won't go there.
However, at $199 for a 1911 pistol could be a cheap fun time shooting .22lr ammo. Too bad .22lr ammo is not a cheap as it used to be.

Caliber snob? I didn't suggest you buy a .22LR pistol to fend off zombies or defend the country... it is a plinker and if you ever go to the range and eat a box of 50 CHEAP 230 grain FMJ at about $20, you might want to check the price of a bulk WWB... they still put holes in paper and while the bang isn't as big, you do get more bang for your buck at the range.

Don't you mean more "bangs" for your buck?

That is really a tempting price for a plinker. I'm contemplating it. $199 delivered and only $20 for my local FFL guy. Shoot I spend more than on ammo in a month for my bigger calibers. I'm trying to convince my self that I can pay for it in ammo savings.

You know I am not at all familiar with the PUMA 1911 other than the name!
I have been looking at a couple- 3 Sig 1911-22 in Desert Tan, Green Camo and a regular black one for a little plinking fun, and they are in the 359 range but the reliabilty/function is suppose to be really good.
they also have pretty nice wooden grips and adjustable sights.
I need another 22 like I need another hole in the head , but hey!
    I mean its a 1911-LOL
so's what the deal on the puma 1911-22 as to function/quality, performance?
