Polish Tokarev TTC 7.65X25mm (.30 cal) Pistol

I have been checking out this Polish made Tokarev TTC 7.65X25mm (.30 cal) pistol with eight round magazines. From what I have read, the Russian and Polish made Tokarev are suppose to have better build quality and slightly different markings and cuts. This pistol is advertised for $275 but I am sure I can get it for $250 with some ammo. For those who do not know the 7.65X25mm (.30 cal) is super-sonic and has 1400-1600 FPS on average (double velocity compared to .45 ACP), only special rounds can be purchased in the U.S. because it is armor-piercing when FMJ. The ammo is military surplus and is affordable (compared to 9mm.) I am thinking it may be worth something 5-10 years down the road. It was built in 1952, you can identify an original Polish made TTC by a circled "11" on top of the slide. Any information or opinions would be very helpful.

The one listed in the ad is a polish replica . Its over priced by $150. I would steer clear of this an look for a pre 1952 Russian original tt-33. Or a Yugoslavian with slide safety. Just my 2 cents.

For pre-1952 Russian we are looking well into $500-$1000 range: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=241974646

Is the Yugoslavian better than the Polish TTC model?

My brother owns 6 of them. Damn near every Coomie country made a copy. His Russian model is like quility of a Browning. Its a well made firearm. The only one that comes close is the Yugoslavian one he has. Really the only differance between his Russian and Yugo is the slide saftey. His China,Korean,Polish,And Turkish. Just don't have as high of a standard. But in saying that they are good firearms and are very acurrate. So expect to pay more Russian and Yugo. The others are good buys at $100 - $200 range.

Also consider the CZ52. Czech made and Roller Locked. They're in the $200 to $350 range.

I'm sure you meant to type super-sonic since the speed of sound is about 1140 fps depending on temperature and air pressure.

Thanks chicharrones, you are right it is super-sonic and armor piercing. I am wondering if this ammo can be bought in department stores? I do not want to have to order online if I do not have too. I prefer to buy locally : ' )

Typically, no! But you might find it at some of the more well stocked Gunshops and Gun Shows. Some of the distributors in Shotgun News will also have it. You probably will wind up having to order some of it online.
