Don't own a 22A but used the instructor's to qualify for CCW. Easy to shoot, easiest magazine to load that I've ever handled, magazine release is in an odd place (front of the grip).
I do own a 22/45 and love the way it handles -- best feeling .22 auto to me. Takedown is a little complicated, but overall it's an excellent, durable and accurate pistol. Magazines and holsters are easier to find for the 22/45 than the 22A, but the 22A is about $65-75 cheaper than the 22/45 around here.
