Congrats and number of Charter fans (including your's truly) have been patiently awaiting the CARR's arrival as I am burned out on using moonclips.
Since they're two of my favorite calibers, I'm holding out for the 9mm and .45ACP versions.
Buds....I put it in layaway....They sold super quick.... A real pocket rocket......

Overall, how would you rate the quality of this gun? I ask becuase I handled one a while back and it was almost falling apart. It was the first Charter I had ever handled, and quite frankly I was not at all impressed.

I own 4 Charter revolvers now ...and have owned a dozen or more in the past...I have had no quality issues with any..I've sent 3 in for repair...one I dropped..and cracked the grip, the other two after a heavy day at the range the ejector button screw backed out and I had to send them in for a free repair..even the one I dropped was repaired ,no charge....I must admit fit and finish may not be there strong suit...Taurus uselly have wonderful finishes especially on there blued revolvers (I've seen and owned a few stainless steel Taurus' that the finish was not up to there normal standards) but overall I rate there functional quality equal to Taurus ...and there customer service is the best in the business......
But you mentioned " I ask becuase I handled one a while back and it was almost falling apart." I've never had one in the condition you mentioned......I hope you pointed it out to the dealer..where he could send it back...for repair or replacement...
I'm a Taurus fan....but I do like Charters "D" size 22oz frame revolvers and there J frame 12oz to 16 oz revolvers" and with Charter you have a quick turn around time with repairs....and you have the ability to talk to a knowledgeable staff person ...
That's good to know, I'm always looking for a good deal and that particular revolver in question was really tempting, price wise that is. When I said something about the sloppy lock up and flimsy grip the "dealer" just said, "well it's a Charter". As if to imply that they are all like that. The funny thing is that I've heard the same expression used when referring to a Taurus.
Yep ..I know what you mean..I've always had great luck with Taurus handguns...but now as said fit and finish is not Charters strong point...but they function well...
If I handle one of my Charters with one of my older Ruger Speed or Police six...theres most defiantly a difference is quality...when those two are compared...But What could compare to a Ruger Speed Six ????

Nice. I've been waiting on the Taurus. A .40 revolver has an appeal to me. I'd think of it as a .357 with moon clips. Is this the clip-less model everyone's been yappin' about coming out? I'd really rather have moon clips for reloads as it'd be a carry gun for me.

This Speed Six and my Police Six both have had action jobs ..extremely smooth/slick...never had a revolver with a action like this Speed Six...scary smooth ...
